First day with my host family

Saturday august 13. at 8:30 my host mother and my younger host sister have taken me up from the airport and drove me to their home. There I meet my host brother and host dad and of course the 3 dogs. My older host sister was at a cheerleading training at this time After putting my stuff into my room I took a nap then we watched the Olympic games. A few hours later we’ve ate dinner and that was the first time I’ve tried shrimps and fish and surprisingly it wasn’t that bad. In the evening we went to the pop shop for drinking a milkshake. I went to bed at 10pm and I stood up at 1pm I’ve slept so much that night and now I’m excited about my year here.

Camp

12days ago I’ve took my plane to the Newark airport there I had to drive 2 hours with a bus to a college named Muhlenberg in Pennsylvania. The first day after arriving we had a parade of nations and after that we had lunch. The food in the cafeteria was very good. After lunch we had 3 hours homeroom where we learned each other names. In the evening after dinner we had an “amazing race” where we had to run as a class all over the campus and solve tasks. Friday morning we had classes and in the evening we went to a baseball game. That was my first game and we sang the “ball game song” and the team that we supported won. At Saturday we had a normal day with classes and in the evening we had a pep rally where we had to cheer. Sunday august 7 we did a trip to new York where we visited the statue of liberty, central park, the top of the Rock and Time Square. The following two day’s we had classes and in the evening a volleyball tournament. Wednesday evening we had a gameshow which was very boring but Thursday we were going to the Dorney park. This is a park with rollercoasters and in the evening we had the volleyball playoffs. Sadly we just made the third place. The last day we had a talent show and my homeroom danced to “we’re all in this together”. Then in the evening we had prom and it was very funny but sad because everybody had to leave. I stayed awake the whole night because my friends left at 2am 3am and 4am and I left at 6am. It was great at the camp I’ve made so many new friends from all over Europe and Asia.
